About me
My name is Emmanuel Monehin, founder of StoragePermit. I’m Nigerian and currently live in Rwanda. The idea for StoragePermit grew from my experience as a software engineer building digital products and as an Airbnb Superhost hosting over the years.
I live by a simple principle: treat people the way you would want to be treated. With StoragePermit, I’m extending that same care to people’s belongings by providing efficient, reliable temporary storage.
5 years of Key Insights
I’ve been an Airbnb host for five years, and a Superhost for most of that time. Over time, you learn that hospitality is logistics wearing a smile, plus excellent communication.
Guests’ plans rarely match their luggage: a day after checkout, a late flight, meetings without bags in tow. Again and again: “Can you keep this for a while?”
The gap that kept showing up
One review said it plainly. Late flight. Next guest already on the way. Bags with nowhere honest to go.
That gap, between the itinerary and the suitcase, is where StoragePermit began. Not as a marketplace pitch. As a host’s recurring problem, finally treated like a product.
Ten years of shipping software
In parallel, I have spent a decade as a software engineer, building with teams across Africa and beyond.
StoragePermit is both lives braided together: the Superhost’s instinct for trust, and an engineer’s insistence that custody, identity, and handoff are never hand-waved.
The mission and vision
Our mission today is simple: safe, reliable temporary storage for bags, luggage, and physical items, so you can leave your things and get them back when you need them.
Our long-term vision is bigger. StoragePermit aims to become Africa’s leading logistics, storage, and delivery solution, starting with bags and items, then growing into the full movement of things people trust us with.
